Hannah Staveley was born in Harpham in 1822, the daughter of Samuel Staveley and Esther SNOWBALL. She married William S. WALKER, and after a brief stay in Hull where daughter Madeline was born, the family moved to Middlesex, where she was joined by her mother, and sister Jane.

Hannah's brother Michael Staveley was born in Harpham September 2, 1827. He married Elizabeth FRANKCOM on November 24, 1858 at All Souls, St Marylebone, London. In 1861 Michael and Elizabeth are found residing in Middlesex in the household of David STEWARD, a local Riding Master:
