Jane Staveley was born in Ardwick, Manchester in 1853 to Enos Staveley of Aysgarth Yorkshire, and Elizabeth Davenport of Chorley Lancashire. Jane was raised primarily in Higher Booths along with her sisters, and brother Enos, and undoubtedly this is where she met her husband Robert Henry CRABTREE. Robert was a Stone Trade Clerk, of Higher Booths, Lancashire, and married Jane in 1875. By 1891 the family is found briefly residing in Dorset, where their son Enos J. Crabtree was born.
