Bryant Stavely was born in Stewart County, Tennessee, the son of Elijah Staveley and Mary Elizabeth COLLIER. Bryant married Celia MCCASKILL of Scotland, on October 3, 1847. In 1850 we find Bryant and Celia residing in Pope, Illinois with a young daughter Sarah aged 1 year. By 1860 we find Bryant with his family living in Austin, Travis County, Texas, though Sarah is not in the household, and presumed deceased.
