Enos Davenport Staveley was born in Higher Booths in 1865, and was the son of Enos Staveley of Aysgarth and Elizabeth Davenport of Chorley. Enos married Emily Haworth of Lumb, Higher Booths in 1892 at the Haslingden register office. Emily was the daughter of Thomas Haworth and Emma Jane Gladwell of Lumb. Enos and Emily's first two children, Annie (b. 1893) and Enos (b. 1895) were born in Crawshawbooth, but sadly Enos would not to survive his first year of life, and died soon after he was born. By the next year, when Emily was expecting twins, the family moved to Wheelton near Chorley, Lancashire. By 1900 when daughter Eunice was born, the family was residing in Withnell. |
