Hannah's daughter Lucy had died in early spring 1861, prior to the census for that year.  Note that in the 1861 census Anne is declared as Michael's daughter, but the Wintringham parish registers shows she was the daughter of Michael's daughter Hannah, born in 1857.  By 1871 however, Anne is listed as Michael's grand-daughter:

Michael's son Isaac is in the employ of James Jackson as a farm servant, residing at Shardale, Wintringham.

Richard is in the employ of Thomas Robinson as a farm servant at Barddile Dale Farm in Hutton Bushell, Yorkshire in 1871.

In 1881 son Michael is staying with his brother Isaac and sister Elizabeth who are living in Ebberston:

Michael's son John married Mary MAGSON in Wharram Le Street Yorkshire on December 4, 1875.  Their two oldest children, Annie and William were both christened in that parish.  John is residing with his father Michael in 1881 in Wintringham:

John's father Michael died in 1890 at the reported age of 77 years.

Michael's son Richard (b. 1855) married Charlotte SHARP in 1890 and is found residing in Seamer, Yorkshire in 1891.

Michael's son William (b. 1859) is employed as an indoor servant in the household of Samuel Campion of Kirby Grindalyth in 1881.

John died in 1914 at the age of 64 years.  John's wife Mary died in 1922 at the age of 69.

John's brother Isaac was living in Ebberston between 1881-1891, and married Maria Jane RUSTON in 1884:

Isaac died in Pickering in 1919 at the age of 73 years. His wife Maria died in Ryedale in 1937 at the age of 80.

John's brother Michael was residing in Ebberston in 1881, and is missing from the 1891 census.  However, he shows up again in Wintringham in 1901:

Michael died in 1921 at the age of 68 years.


A second, seemingly unrelated Staveley is found residing in Wintringham in 1881.  Robert Staveley married Honour DANBY in the third quarter of 1854 in the Pocklington registration district.  Robert was born in Hayton in 1828 to parents Robert Staveley and Mary CLARK. The family previously resided in Yapham, Newton Upon Derwent, and  Scrayingham, Yorkshire:

By 1891 this family has moved to Scarborough, Yorkshire.  Although daughter Eliza Jane is missing in the 1891 census, in 1895 she married William Ireland KIDD in Scarborough, and in 1901 is found with her husband and sons Arthur Ernest, and Harry Staveley Kidd.

Robert Staveley died in 1884 at the age of 55 years in Scarborough.
