John Staveley of Sledmere is believed to be the son of Richard Staveley and Frances HUDSON of Kirkburn, born in 1740. John married Elizabeth COVERDALE in Wetwang on August 31, 1771, and had the following child in Sledmere:.

Presumably both Elizabeth and the child died soon thereafter, as John remarried to a Mary NOBLE in Wetwang on November 25, 1773, and appears to have had the following children in Sledmere:

Son Richard married Ruth HOPPER in Wetwang on January 11, 1814. Richard and Ruth are found living in Wetwang in 1851.
