Bartholomew Staveley is the son of John Staveley and Jane LAPFLODE of Sidbury, Devon. Bartholomew married Joan SYDBOROUGH and is believed to have had the following children:

The following entry appears in the 1604 publication Collections Towards a Description of the Count of Devon, by Sir William Pole (who died AD 1635), under the parish of Harcomb (Harcombe).
Parish of Harcomb HARCOMB, in this parish, was thinheritanc of Will'm de Harcomb in Edw. 1 tyme;& after, in ye latter end of Kinge Edw.3, Raph Lapflode was owner thereof, in which name it contynewed unto John Lapflode, Wch left issue Jane, wief of John Staveley, & Sibil, wief of John Halse. This land fell unto Staveley by particion & Bartholemew Staveley sold the same, & Rowland Huysh, of Sand, Esquier, hath bought a good parte thereof, & enlardged his demesnes. |
